Prince William, Kate Middleton Jordan Bound for Honeymoon

Prince William and Kate Middleton maybe headed to Jordan for their honeymoon despite earlier reports that hey had ruled out any exotic location far from home.

Kate lived in Jordan as a child for some time with her family.

It is believed that the Wadi Run valley and Petra are among the places on the Royal couple itinerary following their wedding on April 29.

Not only will the couple get a warm reception from the country's head of state King Abdullah and wife Queen Rania (who have also received wedding invites), but swimming in the waters of the Dead Sea and camping in the arid desert will fulfill their thirst for adventure.

Palace staff declined to respond to the story, which was featured in the Sunday Telegraph, other than to state that the pair's honeymoon trip is going to be a private affair.

Speaking to People magazine, close friends of William and Kate voiced the hope that the world media will respect the couple's privacy wherever they maybe headed, with Seychelles, Greece's Corfu island, and Mystique being possible destinations.

Jordan is the "preferred option" of the couple according to the Telegraph and it is "believed" that William and Kate have planned a seven-day trip, touring sites of historic interest.

The Telegraph story also suggested that the couple will spend a few days on one of the royal estates inside the UK, with Scotland's Balmoral as a possibility.

Middleton called Amman, Jordan, home for almost three years, starting in 1984, and went to nursery school there. Among the family photographs released by the palace and Kate's family, one was of the future princess and father Michael on break in the countryside.

Wadi Run valley and the historic Petra were included in David Lean's film Lawrence of Arabia and the stunning Petra landscape was also part of the background for Steven Spielberg's blockbuster Indiana Jones.

We guess if it's good enough for Hollywood, then it should be good enough for William and Kate!
