New Kids on the Block and New Edition are only a few of the singing stars from the decade of big hair and doorknocker earrings returning to the stage to entertain a whole new generation of music fans.
Eighties sweethearts (and alleged foes, though both ladies deny it) Tiffany and Debbie Gibson are planning to hit the road on a joint concert tour this summer. Though no dates have been announced, the girls are planning to perform their own material, as well as covers of songs that have inspired their work. Hits by Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks, country star Reba McEntire, and a host of Broadway showtunes are being eyed for inclusion.
“We want to journey through the ’80s and all the artists who influenced us,” says ex-Playboy centerfold Tiffany, best remembered for her 1987 hit “I Think We’re Alone Now.”
Earlier this year, the former teen idols poked fun at their long-rumored rivalry by starring together in the Syfy horror spoof Mega Python vs. Gatoroid.
