Actress Tika Sumpter is the first black actress to have a major role in the massively popular teen/young adult TV show. She plays Raina Thorpe, the daughter of Bart Bass’ former associate. Rumour has it she’ll be the love interest of bad boy character Chuck Bass.
Tika Sumpter on the Gossip Girl set
Her style seems kinda Blair Waldorf but, like all the characters in the show, we’re sure her wardrobe will be immaculate.
Gossip Girl has done wonders for the careers of Leighton Meester (Blair) and Blake Lively (Serena) so we have high hopes for the beautiful Tika.
Let's get one thing clear—Gossip Girl's first season was just plain brilliant television. The series was enthralling, addictive and so much more than just a guilty pleasure. But like most programs that begin getting rave reviews and critical acclaim (we're looking at you, Glee), its second season found the entire shebang inserting its head up its own ass and becoming completely derailed from everything that made it good in the first place. Quite simply, the producers bought their own hype and didn't know what to do with it.
Anyway, Robyn graced the Upper East Side last night by "singing" (the boring version of) her Body Talk Pt. 2 single "Hang With Me" during a scene where Blair, Chuck and Serena decide to—yeah, I have no idea what the eff these characters do anymore. I haven't watched since the season 3 opener.
Tyra Banks is bringing the heat to Gossip Girls as a guest star in its upcoming third season in which she will have an on-screen battle of the divas against Blake Lively.
The Top Model host will not be herself, however. Instead, Banks will play Ursula Nyquist, a top actress whose newest film is making the rounds on the red carpet. As the season progresses, Lively's character Serena will get a job as a publicist in charge of managing Nyquist at the premiere.
When the two meet, one can only assume that sparks will fly as the egos flare off the charts.
Gossip GirlLeighton Meester sneaks in a bite of a juicy hamburger on the set of her hit CW show while filming at the Museum of the City of New York on Tuesday afternoon.
The 22-year-old actress joined co-stars Blake Lively and Penn Badgley to film scenes for an upcoming episode.
Nate and Jenny, together again? Although their characters split on a recent episode, Gossip Girl stars Chace Crawford and Taylor Momsen are a coordinated twosome, stepping out in New York on Thursday for the Brooks Brothers annual holiday celebration to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A spin-off for the hugely successful CW drama, Gossip Girl, is in the works, according to Variety.
The spin-off would act as an episode of Gossip Girl later this year to gauge audience reaction. But it’s won’t be for Little J! The trade mag says the spin-off would not feature “The It Girl,” nor would it focus on the character of Jenny Humphrey (the character spun off from the Gossip Girl books for “The It Girl”), played on TV by Taylor Momsen.
