Haitian government declares Friday, Feb. 12, a public holiday to give the nation a chance to mourn and "pay homage to the innumerable victims of the earthquake, many buried in anonymity."

By now, everyone is aware of the tragic earthquake that took place in Haiti this past week. Our network partner, Nice Kicks took to twitter for Austin area sneakerheads to join in on a project that would send sneakers to Haiti. After receiving a great response via the social networking site, Nice Kicks then teamed up with Soles4Souls—a charity that is aiding in bringing footwear to the victims of the awful disaster. In addition to contributing new or gently worn shoes that will be shipped to Haiti you can also donate $5 via text message. Here are the ways to contribute to the charity:
