Teen YouTube sensation Rebecca Black under police protection after receiving death threats

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Threats: Rebecca Black, pictured in LA last week, is under police protection

Teen internet star Rebecca Black has been placed under police protection after receiving two disturbing death threats.

The 13-year-old, who has been dubbed the 'worst singer in the world', shot to fame earlier this year after heavily auto-tuned video of Friday went viral.

It has been viewed more than 110 million times on YouTube, attracting a
barrage of criticism.

'One of the threats came over the phone and another emailed,' Rick Martinez, a spokesperson for the Anaheim, California Police, told Radar Online.

'The threats were related to getting the music off the Internet or they would kill her. We are taking the threats very seriously.

YouTube hit: Rebecca Black's single Friday was viewed by millions

'Officers are keeping a watchful eye on her during this on-going investigation.'
The teenager has previously admitted she was shaken by the at times vicious comments she received online.

She told Good Morning America last month: '[The worst thing I've read was] I hope you cut yourself and I hope you get an eating disorder so you'll look pretty, and I hope you go cut and die.

'When I first saw all these nasty comments I did cry. I felt like this was my fault and I shouldn't have done this and this is all because of me. Now I don't feel that way.'

She sang the American national anthem to prove she could sing, and said she did not write the mocked lyrics.

Her mother paid $2,000 to the record label to produce the song and video, which was shot in her father's home with friends and family as extras.

'Those hurtful comments really shocked me. At times, it feels like I'm being cyberbullied,' she said.

Rebecca is reported to have earned in the region of $20,000, through YouTube's revenue-sharing plan, according to Forbes Magazine.

She's also estimated to have made thousands of dollars from iTunes sales.

Following an appearance on his radio show , Ryan Seacrest is also said to have introduced Rebecca to an A-list entertainment manager, to help take her career to the next level.

The cast of Glee are expected to perform a version of the single in an upcoming episode.

U.S. Chart Roundup: Katy Perry Has Had More #1 Singles Now Than Britney Spears

Katy Perry's "E.T." jumps to #1 on the Hot 100 this week, thus becoming her fourth consecutive chart-topping single off Teenage Dream, and fifth song to reach the peak on the chart overall. (Yes, folks, Katy Perry has had more #1s than Lady Gaga. And Pink. And Britney Spears.)

"E.T." also gives Swedish songwriter/producer Max Martin an 11th chart-topping hit in the U.S., and his first since Weaveney's "Hold It Against Me" debuted at #1 in January. Katy's latest addictive slice of trash was co-produced by Dr. Luke and Ammo, and one can't help but wonder if Max and Luke have reached the point of complete over-saturation in the pop market at this point? You really can't throw a wadded up gum wrapper at the chart without hitting a "Raise Your Glass" here, a "Dynamite" there or a "Price Tag" up Jessie J's thong.

Oh, well, speaking of Wigney, Dr. Luke and Max Martin, "Till The World Ends" makes a slight rebound and moves up one position to #22 in its third week on the Hot 100. And outside the Top 40, soul legend Rebecca Black climbs from #72 to #58 with her instant funk classic "Friday."

Over on the Top 200 album chart, Duran Duran's All You Need Is Now re-enters at #29 after the release of the physical CD, and marks the British band's highest-charting album since Astronaut reached #17 in 2004.

A bit further down, Ke$ha's I Am The Dance Commander + I Command You To Dance: The Remix Album sticks a dollar bill between its teeth, bends over and debuts at #36.

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "E.T." - Katy Perry feat. Kanye West *1 week*
2. "S&M" - Rihanna
3. "Fuck You" - Cee Lo Green
4. "Born This Way" - Lady Gaga
5. "Just Can't Get Enough" - The Black Eyed Peas
6. "No Sleep" - Wiz Khalifa *new*
7. "Look At Me Now" - Chris Brown feat. Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes
8. "Fuckin' Perfect" - Pink
9. "Down On Me" - Jeremih feat. 50 Cent
10. "On The Floor" - Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull

U.S. Chart Roundup: Lady Gaga #1 For A Sixth Week, Britney Spears Plummets

While Lady Gaga notches a sixth week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with "Born This Way," poor Weaveney Spears sees her single "Till The World Ends" drop from #9 to #23 in only its third week on the chart, following the leak of her album Femme Fatale.

Said album will finally have its official release this coming Tuesday, and it will be interesting to see how many Britney stans actually cough up the cash to buy (remember that word, chyldren?) the record, rather than just settle for their illegally-downloaded version.

"Loser Like Me," a Max Martin-co-written original song from Glee, enters the Hot 100 at #6. Pretty impressive this week, but like The Wig's jam, it'll drop faster than a three-dollar hooker in the presence of an oil tycoon with a bulging wallet and a loose zipper at a bachelor party in Vegas.

Elsewhere, Chris Brown weasels his way into the Top 10 for the first time in three years with "Look At Me Now" (#8). And speaking of stans, I remember stanning hard for "Forever," Breezy's last big hit. Too bad his latest antics (a violent offstage freak-out Tuesday at Good Morning America) further cement his douchebag status. And is anyone else irked to no end that his just-released album F.A.M.E. is going to be #1 next week (with possibly over 250,000 copies sold), according to Billboard?

Selene Gomez debuts down at #24 on the Hot 100 with new single "Who Says," which ties with "Round & Round" for her peak chart position. Still, neither of those so-so offerings stack up to her ultimate jam, "Naturally," in my book.

On a final note, soul goddess Rebecca Black (who Lady Gaga calls a "genius") debuts at #72 with her touching ode to the best day of the week, "Friday." Although, that's not true—Saturday's pretty good, too. Rebecca Black...YOU WHORE!!!!

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Born This Way" - Lady Gaga *6 weeks*
2. "E.T." - Katy Perry feat. Kanye West
3. "S&M" - Rihanna
4. "Fuck You" - Cee Lo Green
5. "Just Can't Get Enough" - The Black Eyed Peas
6. "Loser Like Me" - Glee Cast *new*
7. "Fuckin' Perfect" - Pink
8. "Look At Me Now" - Chris Brown featt. Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes
9. "Grenade" - Bruno Mars
10. "Down On Me" - Jeremih feat. 50 Cent

Lady Gaga Gives "Judas" Single Details During Hour-Long Google Chat

Lady Gaga went to Google headquarters in Oakland, California yesterday and sat down—in a chair much higher than she had probably hoped for, hence her awkward posture and attempts to cover her Gaga bits the whole time—for a chat that covered various fan questions for over an hour.

I've posted the whole video below. Some of it's mundane, but a lot of what she covers is interesting—particularly when she discusses next Born This Way single "Judas" (which, apparently, 643 fans asked about when submitting questions).

"Actually, I can exclusively reveal here at Google that I will be making my directorial debut with [her choreographer] Laurieann Gibson, and directing this video with her ourselves," Gaga said. "It's no surprise, I'm sure, to many of you that Judas is a man of the Biblical senses. So expect to see some symbolism in this video."

She then revealed several lyrics to the song:

When he comes to me I am ready
I'll wash his feet with my hair if he needs
Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain
Even after three times he betrays me
I'll bring him down
A king with no crown

Another hot quote dealt with newly-minted viral video star Rebecca Black, whose much-debated song "Friday" you can read about at Pop Trash Addicts.

"I think it's fantastic," Gaga, who hasn't seen the video, said about Black finding fame via YouTube. "I say Rebecca Black is a genius, and anyone that's telling her she's cheesy is full of shit!"

And there you have it.
