Beauty Secrets: Why You Should Moisturize

A lot of girls think that moisturizing your face and body has to do with making it feel soft and silky in the next day of application, but what they do not know is the great benefits that moisturizing gives to your skin; not in the short term only, but in the long term as well!

What moisturizing does to your skin is that it basically retains the water and restores the moisture your skin loses every day; which makes it so essential in keeping the skin young, fresh and hydrated.
It gives the skin a much smoother appearance, improves its texture and acts like a barrier which protects your skin against pollution, harmful sun rays, dirt and all sorts of everyday-life factors that could harm your skin.
In addition to that, it is SO important in reducing the signs of aging, like wrinkles, on the long run and keeping them to a minimal AND improves the elasticity of the skin which can prevent stretch marks caused by weight gain, pregnancy or other reasons like growth and hormones.

How to Moisturize?
The best time to moisturize your skin is right after a shower or a bath, because your pores will be open and it will help lock in the moisture better and get the maximum results.
Different kinds of moisturizers work best for different kinds of skin:

- Oily Skin: oil-free, water-based moisturizer
- Dry Skin: oil-based moisturizer
- Combination Skin: can alternate between oil-based and water-based moisturizers; or can use ones that are specifically formulated for their skin type
- Sensitive Skin: gentle, fragrance-free, and hypoallergenic moisturizer

Tips:
# Try to pick up moisturizers that have either Vitamin A or Vitamin E because they help give the skin Maximum strength and elasticity
# Always apply a moisturizer before putting on your makeup; it will make the makeup application go on smoother and will work as a barrier between the makeup and your skin
# At the end of the night and before going to bed, thoroughly cleanse your skin and always motorize it along with moisturizing your under eyes area (with eye-cream) as the skin tends to work much better at night
