I am always looking for ways to eat more healthy on a daily basis and certain little tricks can help you in your dietary conquest. Below are a few tricks that will help you reach your health goal.
1. Store Vegetables and Fruit on the middle shelf-Last week I came across an article that stated this and I wasn't sure if it would work but I gave it a try. Well I guess the way our brains are programmed the first place our lurking eyes go to in the fridge is the middle shelf. Due to this if you have last night's leftover Chinese food on that shelf you will go for that first and not even think about your vegetables and fruit in the bin at the bottom. Instead put the leftovers in the bin and store the vegetables and fruit on the middle shelf. This is a method I now use and it truly works. When it's snack time I reach for the grapes on the middle shelf instead of the pizza from last night. Save the leftovers for dinner.
2. Shrink your bulk groceries in your cabinets- Of course buying in bulk can save us money but it can also add on more calories. If you buy that jumbo size bag of pretzels you will more then likely eat more then usual due to the size. Instead separate the pretzels into separate baggies and that trick will save you a ton of calories.
3. Eliminate junk food- If your going to the supermarket and buying boxes of donuts, huge bags of chips, etc, on a daily basis, stop! This doesn't mean you can treat your self to a small portion of these things once in a while but if it is stored in your home constantly it will tempt you to eat it on a daily basis. That in turn is not good as it will take you away from the path that you want to be on.
4. Serve yourself before you seat down- If you have a family style dinner at the table where the food is consistently available in your face and the aromas going up your nose you will more then likely go for seconds & thirds and overeat yourself into oblivion. Instead serve yourself before you sit as you will notice that you are more then likely full and that second plate is not even necessary.
So ladies, these are the tricks I use myself and I am healthier for it. Hope this helps you ladies as well.
Stay Fab!
