Montreal Fashion Week

Fashion Week is over, and the Montreal fashionistas can dry clean all their H&M one of a kind pieces and hibernate 'til september.
I saw one show this year: Trusst Club. Wich from what I gather is a little store on St-Laurent that sells pieces by up and coming Montreal designers, or maybe they're an agency that represents Montreal designers, either way, they had a show a Fashion Week.
I can sum up that show in 6 words; Rick Owens, Calvin Klein & Vivienne Westwood.
First up (after a weird, bizarrely intentionally vague musical and spoken piece) Samuel Mercure, who modeled his collection on Rick Owens, was it an homage? or a ripoff? We'll never know. Everything was black, except the models, that will suit all the little montreal gay wannabe fashionistas (if they can afford it), but to me it seemed a little bit... 2008?
By Thomas came in second (the only woman designer of the show) She had some interesting pieces; dresses and a couple coats, but the cuts and shapes of everything reminded me a little too much of Calvin Klein's collections. That being said, it was very wearable stuff and will probably sell very well (depending on her price range).
Closing the show was: Christian L'Enfant Roi, interesting name, but that can't be said of his collection. Being a very big Vivienne Westwood fan, i saw all the little Viv things right away, the cuts of most of the pants & shirts, and you know that wine red color that Westwood is so fond of, well it was all over the place, wich is fine, no one owns that color, but since the cuts were very Westwood, i would have stayed away from a color that she uses so often. That being said, out of the 3 designers showcased in the show his collection is the one that most appealed to me. Some of the pieces looked dirty though and i even saw a few pins shining through (who was dressing these people backstage?)
The whole tone of the show was weird though, because for the most part they were using non-models who couldn't really walk, most of them looked very uncomfortable. the makeup was absolutely horrible on everyone, i don't know if it was the lights or what but i was kinda shocking!
I'm loving the concept of this thing/store/agency though, keep up the good work.
