Lady Gaga’s new single “Born This Way” bursts on to the Billboard hot 100 singles chart at No. 1, also becoming the chart’s 1,000th leader since the list launched in 1958. George Shearing Dies At 91

George Shearing, the elegant pianist who expanded the boundaries of jazz by adding an orchestral sensibility and a mellow aesthetic to the music, has died. He was 91.Mr. Shearing died Monday of congestive heart failure in New York.

On the Ivories, he was capable of many different styles, from dynamic bebop to a quiet but insistent swing. He played with larger groups but attracted his greatest attention for an excellent quintet he fronted for decades. The quintet had such hits as "September in the Rain" and "Lullaby of Birdland," the second of which he wrote in 1952 and named after the celebrated New York jazz club.

Ashlee Simpson Files For Divorce

Singer Ashlee Simpson has just filed for divorce from her husband, Fall Out Boy musician Pete Wentz, TMZ reports. Simpson is repped by well-known divorce lawyer Laura Wasser and is also asking for spousal and child support. Wentz will be represented by Stacy Phillips. After two years of marriage, the couple has called it quits, citing "irreconcilable differences" in divorce docs filed with L.A. County Superior Court.

The couple were married in May of 2008 and reportedly did not have a prenup. They have a son, Bronx Mowgli, who was born in November 2008. Just days ago on February 4, the two were spotted looking happy as they were out and about making a coffee run.

Spider Man On Broadway

Reviewers have slammed the Spider-Man musical on Broadway, saying that it is not only the most expensive show to ever open in the New York theatre district, but also among the worst. The Washington Post branded the show a "stinker", while the Hollywood Reporter called it a "web-slinging folly". Several of the writers said they planned to re-review the musical later to assess the final product. Still, the early notices provoked ire from the "Spider-Man" team. The show, currently in preview, will have its official opening on 15 March.

District Attorney's office announced Tuesday that it planned to charge the actress/train wreck with felony grand theft in connection with the disappearance of a $2,500 necklace from a store near Lohan's home. The actress is due in court for an arraignment on Wednesday afternoon. Lohan's lawyer denies she did anything wrong. The Mean Girls star is on probation from a 2007 drunken-driving incident.

Drake has garnered six nominations at Canada's 2011 Juno Awards, setting up a showdown with pop sensation Justin Bieber for Album of the Year. Drake's other nods include Best Single, Best Songwriter and Best Rap Recording. Bieber has four nominations, including the Juno Fan Choice Award, Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year. Drake will also host the program. Drake picked up nominations for best album, best songwriter, best rap recording and best single for 'Find Your Love.'  Justin Bieber’s nominations include Juno Fan Choice Award, Best Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Pop Album of the year. While the two musicians are different, they definitely will be going head to head against each other on 'Album of the Year.'

Brad Pitt has left Angelina Jolie alone in Los Angeles to jet to France to oversee extensive renovation work on their £35 million mansion. The Hollywood star obtained a building permit in 2009 to make huge changes to the 35-bedroom Chateau Miraval estate in Provence, which already boasts his-and-hers gyms, a Jacuzzi, sauna, billiards room and huge banqueting suite. The Hollywood star and architectural enthusiast plans to oversee major renovations that are taking place at the sprawling property he and Angelina own in Provence. The mansion is surrounded by a dense forest, giving the couple and their children privacy, and the grounds also boast more than 20 fountains, olive trees and a lake. Upon submission, Brad’s plans for the estate were welcomed by the mayor of the nearby town of Correns, who promised a civic reception to “honour” the famous family to the area. If Brad Pitt weren't an actor, we bet he'd be a pretty famous architect by now!

These peeved parents say Michele, as an actress who plays a high school student on a TV show watched largely by teen and pre-teen viewers, has a responsibility to their kids to keep things a little more buttoned up. The actress first got parents upset with her ‘GQ’ photo shoot and now her ‘Cosmopolitan’ cover is adding to the anger, states Fox News. Parents reportedly think that her cover shot where she is wearing a plunging neckline sends confusing messages. “She plays such a ‘good girl’ on ‘Glee’ and a lot of kids look up to her persona. Then she poses very provocatively on two magazine covers which makes my almost-13-year-old son very confused and offended,” one parent reportedly said.
