Sexy Jake Gyllenhaal Digs Reese

Life & Style is reporting that actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who is reportedly in the early stages of a relationship with soon-to-be divorced actress/celebrity-mom Reese Witherspoon, is not only falling for the Oscar winner, but is already head over heels for her two children, 8-year-old Ava and 3-year-old Deacon. A friend of Reese's says,

Jake loves those two kids. He's is so good with them. He loves kicking a ball around with Deacon, and he even lets Ava play hairdresser with him.

Jake is already uncle to sister, actress Maggie Gyllenhaal's daughter Ramona, and celebrity-godfather to his former costar Heath Ledger's, daughter Matilda. According to Reese's pal, he reportedly told the actress, "I want to be a part of your family."

Latest Posh and Becks News - New Home!

Victoria and David Beckham continue to settle down in LA. They have reportedly purchased a $30 million, seven-bedroom mansion next to the Cruises. The ranch-style interior has an open-plan kitchen, lounge and bar, and a massive reception room.

Outside, there is a plush entertaining area under a verandah and SIX fountains. The long sweeping drive and secluded grounds will provide security and privacy.

And the two-acre landscaped garden backs on to Tom and Katie's place —pretty handy since Victoria is said to be taking courses about Scientology in exchange for their appearance in a documentary about Posh.

Victoria, 33, and David, 31, have been hunting for a new home since he signed for the LA Galaxy soccer team earlier this year. They are expected to complete the move to America with kids Brooklyn, eight, Romeo, four and two-year-old Cruz in July.

Digitalism - Terrorlight

Digitalism, "Jupiter Room (Erol Alkan's Simple Yet Effective Edit)" (YSI link) 320 for DJs

Daft Punk, "The Brainwasher (Erol Alkan's Horrorhouse dub)"
(YSI link)

It is such a beautiful day, let's start this week off big. Of course, big around these parts means Digitalism songs and Erol Alkan remixes. Bring them together and it's globothermonuclear TNT A bomb shit. Kitsune, one of the best labels in the world (the haters are starting to come out, so they need to stay on top of their game now), has just released a new 12" featuring even more remixes of the German band's best tracks, "Zdarlight" and "Jupiter Room." I'm only putting up the B side, so make sure to grab your copy of the 12" to hear the great Zdarlight remixes. Or cop any of the Kitsune Maison compilations, as they are some of my favorite shit and amazing intros to the whole indie dance world.

Erol didn't lie when he called this a simple yet effective edit. He retained much of the original's sound and vibe, extended the original by a few minutes

-For those in London still lamenting the loss of Trash, it seems like it's replacement as begun at The End (West Central St.) It's called Durr and it goes down every Monday with Rory Phillips, The Lovely Jonjo and Matt Irwin. Tonight, there's a super secret special guest that no one is naming, which leads me to believe that its gonna be a pretty fucking rad choice. To bring this post home, Mr. Alkan will be spinning a set at the May 28th edition of Durr. Yeah!

-G-d damn, LA does not sleep. The Genre are bringing the same party from last night to Hollyhood with Le Castle Vania, Audiojack, Paparazzi, Zendo, DJ S!n and Luv Tek. Put on your best pair of skinny jeans, fix up look sharp and get to Cinespace for some rave-y disco-y electro-y madness.

-I got to spend the weekend in Philly and just had to say how it is the greatest city on earth and if you are looking for a place to move there is nowhere in the world better. The Monday Night Social is the new weekly party going down at Fluid (613 S. 4th St.) and they've brought in special guest Andy Caldwell to kick things off.

-This warm weather just makes my Hall and Oates requests more necessary. Thankfully Lauren Flax and Sam Brown from The Whitest Kids You Know are doing a yacht rock night at Piano's from 6-12 tonight. It's spring, it's the perfect time for weekday drinking, the douchebags won't out in the LES tonight, do this. Two words - Kenny Loggins.

Dannielyn Smith-Birkhead News

A new birth certifcate has been issued for the 7-month-old daughter of Anna Nicole Smith. The certificate lists the little girl's new moniker as Dannielynn Hope Marshall Birkhead -- not Stern. It's about freakin' time!

DNA testing unequivocally proved that photographer Larry Birkhead is the father of Dannielynn, and not Howard K. Stern, whose name appeared on the originally issued document.

On Friday, Anna Nicole's mom, Virgie Arthur, lost a last-ditch appeal to block Larry Birkhead from leaving the Bahamas with Dannielynn.

DJ Paul V. - All-Coachella Smash Mix

DJ Paul V., All-Coachella Smash mix

The weekend has ended, which means that the massive Coachella festival has too. For those of us who weren't lucky enough to be there (or those who were and just wanna have a nice souvenir sitting on your iPod), here's my bol DJ Paul V.'s latest mix, All-Coachella Smash mix. It's 19 tracks at 17 minutes, featuring some of the artists from the night. It's another great mix by Paul and should remind everyone at just how much amazing talent was at the festival. I mean look at the names here - Bjork, LCD Soundsystem, Peter Bjorn and John, Junior Boys, etc. Damn look at the Saturday line-up alone (Justice, !!!, LCD, The Rapture, MSTRKRFT, my girl Regina Spektor, Busy P, DJ Mehdi, Arcade Fire...)

Let me also take this chance to remind everyone to tune into DJ Paul V's weekly radio show, Neon Noise on 103.1. It's a chance to hear this type of mix writ large, as Paul has three hours to drop the best dance tracks, remixes, classics, mash-ups that don't suck, that good stuff. Tune in 12-3 PST, let's hope that we can figure a way to get some of the shows posted here. Also, make sure to check out Paul's podcast blog, The Smash Mix!, where he throws up a new mini-mix every week.

-For those who aren't ready to let the Coachella weekend to die, head to one of the best weekly parties anywhere, LA's Le Disko. This is a special edition as the Le Disko bols take on the DJs from Club Moscow. Daniel, Paparazzi and Keith 2.0 host Raulie a.k.a. Mr. Sleep and Paul from the Wednesday weekly, this is gonna be a battle for the indie ages. Get to the Spider Club (1735 Vine St.) in Hollywood. FYI, more boxing related fliers, people. It's such a good look.

-There's more post Coachella madness in Riverside, as the weekly Era party really goes off this week. It's the ATL's Le Castle Vania's birthday party and he'll be dropping a nasty set of disco and electro to honor his born day. You also get a set from the UK's Audiojack, his first US appearance. Of course, resident dudes DJ S!n and Luv Tek are there, holding down Sevila Nightclub all night. It's a discopunk rave, Dave!

Hashim, "Al Naafiysh (The Soul)" (YSI link) 320 for DJs

Electro 101 later. I'm off to a wedding, will put up the tunes and verbiage then. In the meantime, go out and have fun tonight!

-Tonight's all about Philly, as I'm back in town and I have decided that all of the great parties are in my honor. Caesar returning or something. Co-events of the night, one sees Philly conquering its lamer neighbor to the north, the other sees Philly welcome its neighbors from the south. White Ts and White Belts is finna take over NYC. Philly's best party is doing its thing at a warehouse tonight, a $15 all you can drink deal, Nick Catchdubs and Rezound and Workweek will spin with Emil and Bo Bliz. For real, this is going to be an amazing night, that's really all that can be said.

-Back in the 6th Borough (if you call it that, you'll get beat down), it's gonna be a fucking rager. Mad Decent vs. Unruly. Baile vs. Bmore club. Diplo vs. Scottie B. Lordy lord, this is as good as it gets

-The Philadelphyinz are doing their Khyber jawn tonight, although this one's . It's dedicated to Boris Yeltsin, so I expect lots of vodka and failed democratic reforms. Apt One and Skinny Friedman will prove that someone still loves Boris with a mix of club bangers, disco explosions and booty percolators.

-There's nothing I love more than fliers with drugs on them. My Kansas bols have done it big for their Get Rave! party at The Jackpot (943 Mass St.) in Lawrence. Thunderous Olympian, Iggy and Konsept will make the E talk for all you Midwestern kids.

-Finally, West Coast people, feel free to leave your info and fliers in the comments, as I didn't see anything in my research, but, it turns out that you guys are three behind us time-wise. One must-attend happens at Mezzanine (444 Jessie St.) again, a club that seriously trying to earn best club of the year honors. After the Soulwax jawn last ight, tonight Digitalism and Joakim show up for live sets. Kelly B, Shaun Slaughter and TK Disco handle the DJing, not much more one could ask for.

Mr. Andersonic

Mr. Andersonic, "What" (YSI link)

Mr. Andersonic, "Backdoor Breakthru"
(YSI link)

This is the 800th post at Pound for Pound, a kind of staggering number when I think about it. Over that time, I've been able to meet and hear a lot of great new talent and in the coming weeks and year, I really want to do a better job of shining the light on them and help get the word out. I'm talking about the people who don't hire PR firms to get buzz, you can go to the other blogs for that sort of payola. I'm talking about the grinders, getting their name out through hard work and talent.

Mr. Andersonic is the perfect artist to start with and celebrate, a dude who's been doing his thing for a decade. The time seems right for this dude to be your dude now too, it's time for all you fucking hype beasts to start hyping him. I was fortunate to have my bol Project Matt put me up on him a while back, allowing me to catch him spinning at the basement of Lit and hear these tracks above. Honestly, I assume that we were seperated at birth in some sort of Miami hospital, spending our first few days in a sound chamber that pumped in only 808 basslines.

His influences are immediately clear on the above songs - ghettotech, Miami bass, ghetto house, Baltimore club, i.e. the good stuff. These are all original productions, a sort of lo-fi booty music almost. "What" takes the familiar Lil Jon refrain, but adds in a monotone rap from MC White Ice that really works. It's over a nice Bmore club beat with effects, a little less than three minutes of destruction. My favorite, though, is "Backdoor Breakthru," which strays away from the influences more. It still has the drum machine sound, the electro bass and the obsession with backdoors. But, at over 6 minutes, it has room to breathe. Unlike most booty tracks, which are unrelenting, this one kinda of stretches out and plays with the sounds; there's an almost synth/keyboard solo in the middle like a prog band. Overall, it's got more of that early electro/proto rap sound, where being laid back didn't mean you couldn't keep people shaking their asses.

Andersonic has made his biggest impression in the club, doing his live sampler and syntheizer sets at some of the city's best parties - Cut, White Ligthtning!, Pay To Cum and many others. For those in New York City, I cannot recommend more highly that you get yourself to Home Sweet Home (131 Chrystie St.) tonight for Saturdazed. While Project Matt is trying to survive the hardships of Coachella - pool parties, daytime drinking and sun - Andersonic and Reverend McFly hold it down in the LES for real. You know i consider this to be one of the best weekly parties in NYC and there will be no let-up tonight.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yeah! This should be a definite stop for all of the downtown kids, a chance to hear this blog come to life. More importantly, for all of the party people out there, get at Mr. Andersonic and book this dude so that I can hype your party and hear booty tunes when I'm out and your party can be amazing and you can get hot girls to dance dirty and the world will be at peace. I expect huge things down the road for bol, so get on board now as we're not waiting anymore.

True or False?

The latest news about Reese Witherspoon is that she has warned Jennifer Aniston to keep her hands off Jake Gyllenhaal, it has been reported.

Reese, who has been dating Jake for around two months, was said to be furious after the 'Brokeback Mountain' actor shared an intimate embrace and prolonged kiss with Jennifer at an awards ceremony earlier this month, and has warned her to stay away.

This story seems ridiculous to me. How about you?

Beckhams Accuse Ralph Lauren of Exploitation

The Beckhams are outraged with Ralph Lauren after pictures of the Beckham's sons, Brooklyn & Romeo, wearing Lauren clothes to were released to the public.

The paparazzi pictures of their sons wearing clothes from the fashion house at the christening of Geri Halliwell's daughter last weekend have been circulated without their approval.

Posh Spice maintains that this was a private family event and the photos should not be used to promote clothing lines.
