Becoming a Mom and Keeping Your Sanity!
Let me first start by saying I am not a mom myself but I know plenty of them.
I was on a movie mission this weekend and when watching, "Sex and The City 2" I felt so bad for Charlotte when she lost it and locked herself in the closet to have a breather because one baby wouldn't stop crying, the other wouldn't stop screaming for her attention, she is trying to bake cupcakes and talk on the phone. All of this at one time can drive anyone nuts! Whoever said being a mom is easy, lied. Thank God the nanny came in to save her. Towards the end of the movie she realized that she is only human and she needs time to herself so she can actually rejuvenate, relax and think straight.
To my new mommy's I ask that you do the same. If you can take anytime for yourself do it, you will not regret it and your baby will still be there when you come back. When they are napping take this as a time to take a nice hot bath and relax in the tub reading your favorite magazine. If dad is there to help have him watch the baby while you go out and take a walk or while you sit in the park just listening to your ipod and taking in the sights. While your child is at school, catch up with your girls over breakfast, hell even have an early drink.
I was listening to Z100 and they stated that 80% of stay at home moms will drop off their kids at school, meet up with their girlfriends and have cocktails before 12pm. I personally don't see a problem with this as some of you know kids can drive you to drink, plus it's 12pm somewhere.
Ladies remember to always take sometime for yourself as you will feel so much better and it will just help you to be a better mom.
Stay Fab!
