Cristiano Ronaldo Supports Crashed a Humanity Project Site

Another social project from CR...
Cristiano Ronaldo called for solidarity from the fans on his official Facebook page, called Casa do Povo de Alvarenga. And within days, the site had so many visitors that led to a technical problems.

More than 10,000 people have visited the site, and it was only because CR announced his support for the project on his Facebook.  It made lots of membership and donations entering Casa do Povo.

So why did CR support the site ? Casa do Povo de Alvarenga actually aims to help the poorest households of the land in the municipality of Arouca, which also supported by his friend, a doctor. All the donations will be use to build a home for old people. He just care so much...

Cris loves to do social thing and helps lots of people. But what I remember the most is when he visited Aceh during the Tsunami incident, and invited 1 of the kid survivors to the Manchester and watch him play with MU as a guest of honor.

Serge Lutens Encens et Lavande

I tend to think of lavender as a very French note. From crisp white sheets in a Parisian hotel room to delicately embroidered Provençal sachets for one's drawer of fine unmentionables. and then there are favorite lavender perfumes such as Vero Perfumo Kiki, a homage to Paris, from laundry to pastry and the eternal Jicky. But then there's also Serge Lutens and his lavender- here, in Encens et Lavande as well as in Gris Clair and the newer Fourreau Noir. Not surprisingly, Uncle Serge has his own unique take on the classic note.

Encens et Lavande feels  like world music. Not the cheesy Enya stuff, but the authentic thing you catch here and there in your travels. It's foreign and yet familiar like your own voice chanting, and it transforms you to a place of serenity. Unlike many Lutens perfumes, there is no kaleidoscope of spice and amber in Encens et Lavande. It actually smells quite simple on the surface- a herbal opening of lavender and greens (sources list clary sage, I can't say for sure but there's also a hint of cool rosemary) and a dry-down of smoky incense, dark and ashy. That might be all, but it's the progress from outdoors into a dark alcove, a shrine, perhaps, where incense has been burning for days and penetrating the stone walls.

The frankincense is among the richest and most beautiful I've smelled. It's woody at times, sweet and dry, tells of warm embers and cold dried ash. On the skin everything comes alive. Some may find it too masculine, probably because of the vast and airy lavender field of the opening that makes people think of men's cologne. But incense lovers have a good chance to find a lot more than soapy herbs in this blend. Also, anti-Lutens perfume lovers should also give Encens et Lavande a chance. This is not a drama queen of a scent that demands your attention at any turn. Instead this perfume serves as a silent companion on quiet rainy afternoons at home.

Encens et Lavande (120 euros, 75 ml) is one of Serge Lutens exclusive non-export perfumes, only available at Les Salon du Palais-Royal Shiseido in Paris. For us North Americans, The Posh Peasant and The Perfumed Court sell samples and decants.

Oscar Fashion: Winning and Losing Looks

The last award show fashion round-up for a while...a sad moment, but we must get on with it:

RED CARPET GOLD

HALLE BERRY - Flawless in this blissful creation of floaty chiffon and sequined ruffled bodice.

MILA KUNIS - Possibly the best gown of the night, this delicate tiered  dress may not suit Kunis' hard edgy persona  but all the same, the actress wears this dress perfectly. Beautifully feminine.
AMY ADAMS - Many opted less for the protruding skirt and more for the silhouette effect last night, which  is a pleasant change. Amy looks gorgeous covered from neck to toe in this rich indigo embellished gown, paired with clashing emerald green accessories.

GWYNETH PALTROW - Dripping in a silky array of golden/silvery shine, this simple yet powerfully stylish dress fits Gwyneth's modernized sense of red carpet fashion. Maybe her hair in a high, slicked back ponytail would have set the look off even further, but still stunning.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON - A pleasant surprise of fashion choice from Scarlett as we're used to seeing her in more peachy tones and prom-style cuts. This lace dress is classy yet simple. Her refreshed make up and loosely tousled bob finish off this effortless look.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE - A far cry from the scraggy, tomboy she portrays in Winter's Bone, this bold colour enforces Jennifer's youthfulness, bringing something sexy to the red carpet.

CATE BLANCHETT - Cate loves intricacy in the designs she wears and she's not afraid, like Gwen, to push the boundaries. Truly an example of art in the form of fashion, this dress must have been designed for Cate.

CAMILA ALVES - Although not an actress, Matthew Mcconaughey's girlfriend made just as much of a statement on the red carpet with this dramatic black gown with a plunging neckline and protruding empire skirt.

RED CARPET FOLD
REESE WITHERSPOON - I get that she was trying something completely different to her usual red carpet choice, but this look just didn't work. Reese is to soft around the edges to pull off this cutting, femme fatale persona.

NICOLE KIDMAN - Oh Nicole. You used to be so style-appreciated on the red carpet...what happened?

FLORENCE (FROM FLORENCE & THE MACHINE) - She usually adorns these nude-coloured tiered, floaty gowns but this is a nude gown too much. She should have tried something a little different to get us excited.

MARISA TOMEI - This just does not fit her well at all. Someone with more curves to fill out this dress, like Kim Kardashian, would have gained more Fl@unt fashion points, but on Marisa...not good.

Video of the Week: 'Born This Way' - Lady Gaga

Whether you like her or not, we all know this video will gain scoring youtube views due to pure curiosity of what this female force can do next.

Yes, aspects of this video may seem vulgar and will certainly cause controversy, however Gaga's urgency to enforce the message of supporting the people - as different as we may appear to each other - as a united force accepting and appreciating these differences, is commendable:

Cock Art

Now that's talent! Where's his Academy Award? huh!

The Brits Takeover Oscars

Congratulations to fellow Brits Colin Firth and Christian Bale for deservedly winning their first Oscars last night for 'The Fighter' and 'The King's Speech. Both actors completely dedicated themselves to their roles. 'The King's Speech also won major awards - Best Directing and Best Film.

A specific well done to Natalie Portman who won for Black Swan. She's been working since she was 11 showcasing sincere cinematic portrayals after the other - a win well overdue!

A Few Seconds Of New Will.i.am-Produced Britney Spears Song "The Big Fat Bass"

Lady Gaga's new video is such trash I think I need to cleanse my soul with this clip of new Britney Spears song "The Big Fat Bass," which was produced by will.i.am. Oh, fuck—what am I saying?

Fergieney sounds like a total robot ho, and this might as well be "The Time (Dirty Bit) Pt. II," it's so bland. The only good part is that slightly house-y piano at the beginning.

Pop music in 2011 may have just seriously jumped the shark today.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way

It's Take That's Spacey "Kidz" Video

If you're looking for a sci fi-themed music video infused with a bit of menace that's a far more enjoyable ride than Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," then look no further than Take That's "Kidz."

The UK man band arrives from outer space and invades the Earth to have a little song and dance in the clip for their second single off their smash album Progress. It's a simple concept—albeit one that borrows from several recent movies—but it works.

I have tickets to see these hot pieces live in Italy in four-and-a-half months. Can't wait!

It's Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" Video

Alright, all you Madonna loons. Let's just get this out of the way right up front. There are absolutely no similarities between Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and Madge's "Vogue" music videos...

...none at all.

I have to say, while I defended the song two-and-a-half weeks ago when it premiered, the Nick Knight/Haus Of Gaga co-directed video for "Born This Way" falls into the same trap the one for "Alejandro" did: dark, depressing and doesn't match the feel of the song at all.

What's with all her clips made for the gay community being these dreary, murky gloom fests, while sassy lady-anthem jams like "Telephone" get bright, eye-popping vids?

Ick.

Burberry Lip Gloss Heather Rose (no. 11)

Burberry Lip Glow lip gloss in Heather Rose (#11) has been my secret weapon lately. It's great on its own, with or without a grounding layer of lip liner underneath, especially for quick and natural looks, but it also adds a lot of dimension to many a lipstick. Heather Rose is a warm beiged-out rose, a bit hard to describe as it changes with the light. Since my lips are darker and have quite a bit of purple pigment, this Burberry gloss is one of my favorite and most flattering nude colors. It would look different if your lips are pale, of course, but I think anyone who can wear delicate warm colors would be able to pull it off.

Like all Burberry lip glosses (and other makeup items, really), the quality here is top notch. The gloss has a light and comfortable texture, it moisturizes and sooths, isn't too sticky and stays in place as well as one can expect from a top of the line lip gloss. I touch up after three hours (or a snack) to maintain the finish, less so if it tops a highly pigmented lipstick.

Burberry Lip Glow lip gloss ($27) is a Nordstrom exclusive, available online and from select locations.

Academy Awards 2011- Ten Beautiful Faces

Last night's Oscars were less painful than other red carpet events in recent memory. Maybe because I kept E! on mute for most of the time, or perhaps it was excitement for Colin Firth. I wonder how many women (and men) sighed with contentment and smiled inwardly at the thought of Mr. Darcy's victory. I couldn't help it.

The stars' makeup was exceptionally beautiful. Even in those cases where I hated the dresses (hello, Cate Blanchett), hair and makeup was mostly flawless and quite varied. We saw everything- muted natural tones, sultry eyes and the trendy orange lipstick, and they all allowed the beautiful faces to shine.

Helena Bonham-Carter left Bellatrix Le Strange at home and brought her own gorgeous self to the ceremony. Her hair is larger than life and suits her perfectly.

Amy Adams championed NARS spring collection, proving that wearing all these bold colors together might be a bit overwhelming on one delicate face. She's sporting the new Velvet Lip Gloss Pencil in Baroque, which I love. Mandy Moore was also wearing NARS, both on the red carpet and during her on-stage performance. No word what exactly happened to Zack Levi's face to make his so orange, though.

Cate Blanchett wore the conversation piece of the night. Her haircut was among the most beautiful, though and her makeup (I think I've heard it was Lancome) illuminated her in all the right places. Other two beautiful blondes were Gwyneth Paltrow and Michelle Williams. I'm still not crazy about Michelle's platinum blonde, but the Jane Seberg/ pre-crazy Mia Farrow thing suits her well. Now, if we could only make her smile.

Everyone's favorite brunettes both opted for bold lips. Sandra didn't look as relaxed as she claimed to be, but I liked her hair far better without the blunt fringe from a couple of months ago.

Jennifer Hudson's oddly placed breasts distracted many from asking questions about her face. Someone went to town with a full coverage foundation. I prefer Jennifer looking a little more natural.

To end things on a more pleasant note, let's look at Natalie Portman:
