One of my favorite actresses and one of the most beautiful women ever: Elizabeth Taylor passed away last night. Waking up to this is deninately not a good way to wake up, I've very saddened andi have a sudden urge to watch my favorite Liz movies! Here is some of her work:

R.I.P. Loleatta Holloway

One of the most soulful, sampled voices in '80s and '90s dance music, Loleatta Holloway, died last night at the age of 64 following what the site Spinning Soul calls "a brief illness."

Loleatta had R&B/disco hits in the '70s with "Love Sensation" and "Hit And Run," but she was unwillingly sampled on Black Box's global 1989 hit "Right On Time" (a major musical influence on yours D'luvvly). She (hopefully) successfully sued their Italian asses and hopefully got tons of cash as a result.



Of course, here in the States we know Holloway best as the powerhouse voice featured on Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch's chart-topping 1991 single "Good Vibrations."



I'll just pretend it was those vocals that I used to get a jolt in my denim shorts over as a confused teen while watching that video.
