Today I would like to bring up Uterine Fibroids and some small but important facts. I discovered I had three tiny uterine fibroids about 3 years ago when I went for my routine GYN checkup. When this was discovered all I could think was, "Will I be able to have kids?" Well it turns out that in the majority of cases fibroids don't cause infertility. My mom also had them in her 20's but when she started having children they disappeared. It is not known how they develop but here are some facts below that will put you at ease.
- Uterine Fibroids are the most common benign tumors among women
- Present in 20% of women off all races of reproductive age
- Present in 50% of women over 35
- Usually don't cause infertility but can cause pain
Stay Fab!
