I've obviously been watching too much royal news coverage because the first thought I had when I saw this DVF blouse was "Princess Diana". Between the puffy sleeves and the ruffled collar, it reminds me of Diana's early years (and the clownish collars that appeared on so many Sunday dresses in the early 1980s).
The collar of this Diane von Furstenberg top is a bit too much for my personal taste, but I appreciate the nostalgic value, especially this spring.

Want- DVF Harper Bag
I don't know about you, but I've had enough gray and black. The DVF Harper day bag in this geometric design makes me believe spring actually might be around the corner. Right now this pattern seems to be a Neiman/Bergdorf exclusive. There are also solid colors available on Diane Von Furstenbers'g own website, but I'm not in the mood for plain beige.
The DVF Penny Wave Satchel isn't bad, either, but I know myself: ivory suede is not going to last (or remain ivory) the season.

A Fashion Trend To Embrace: Orange!
I love orange and can pull it off in most shades, even though not in makeup. Here are a couple of recent example of orange dresses from the last couple of days:
The ever so lovely Emmy Rossum in J. Mendel (on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night), and Drew Barrymore in an inexplicable Jil Sander dress at the 50th Cover Girl anniversary party. I love the color, of course, but this cut is horrible. The two-toned hair also needs to go.
My own personal choice is the DVF Metro wrap dress in Sangria from Diane Von Furstenberg's 2010 Resort collection. I always pick a resort item or two when they go on sale this time of the year and save them for spring/summer, where they actually belong.

LeAnn Rimes Flies With A Stephanie Bag
LeAnn Rimes never struck me as a DVF girl and she probably still isn't- I doubt Diane von Furstenberg would have approved the rest of LeAnn's outfit, even for a flight.
In any case, she's carrying the Stephanie bag which seems to be a celeb favorites for the last couple of years (though this is the large size that's no longer made). This fact alone is usually enough for me to skip an item, but I admit the medium version in Emerald is very appealing:

Diane von Furstenberg To Launch Beauty And Fragrance Line
Diane von Furstenberg has announced she signed a deal for a beauty line that will include fragrance, skin care and color cosmetics. It's a partnership with ID Beauty, a company that seems quite established in Europe. The project is headed by Chantal Roos, the former president of YSL Beauté.
Here's some of what Diane von Furstenberg had to say about her beauty vision and philosophy:
“I have always been interested in the intimacy of the relationship between beauty products and women,” ...
“All I want is to make women feel like they can be the women they want to be. That message is so strong that now we have to put it in a bottle, in a tube, in a spray, in a jar and in a color.”
If you've been following the designer on Twitter you know this woman never stops. DVF has the energy to launch not just a beauty line but also a spaceship and still have stamina to play with her grandchildren when she's done. I'm pretty sure she's not going to spend a lot of time in the labs and most of the products will be simply a stylish repackaging of existing ID Beauty items, but I'm still curious to see what she comes up with, especially when it comes to makeup and seasonal color collections.
